BISMARCK, ND - Today the Industrial Commission, comprised of Gov. Kelly Armstrong, Attorney General Drew Wrigley and Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring, announced that Vance Taylor, the North Dakota Mill and Elevator president and CEO, has shared his plan to retire on July 3, 2026.
Taylor joined the Mill as president and CEO in June 2000 and is the longest-serving president in the Mill’s 103-year history, having served in the role for over 25 years.
“Under Vance’s leadership the North Dakota Mill continued to innovate, expand and generate record profits,” the Commission members said in a joint statement. “While leading the Mill to the position of the largest single-site Mill in the country, Vance maintained an unwavering focus on the Mill’s mission to support North Dakota farmers and generate a return for its owners – the citizens of North Dakota. We are truly grateful for his dedicated service to the state, our farmers, the Commission and the exceptional team at the North Dakota Mill.”
“It has been the honor of my professional life to serve this organization,” said Taylor. “Over the past decades, I have had the privilege of working alongside dedicated employees, committed partners and a Commission that has consistently supported the long-term strength and growth of the Mill. Together, we have weathered challenges, embraced innovation and upheld the legacy of an institution that is vital not only to North Dakota but to customers across the nation and around the world.”
The Commission announced it will form a search committee and conduct a nationwide search for the next president and CEO of the North Dakota Mill and Elevator Association.
